For my self-portrait project I decided to use a thinking image of me because I am constantly brainstorming new ideas for my stories and characters. I decided to use charcoal for this project. This requires various line weights and shaping to create the depth of the image. For certain spots of the portrait I started with lines but turned them into shading: eyelids and nose. I left the background white so my shirt would not vanish in the piece. The white background helps make all of me the focal point of the piece. This will help in the Digital Media and Animation field of work because it will add detail to my work. This project was completed with success.
